What is your name?
I am Pennyworth Bosc, thank you for asking!
What are your talents and skills?
I am a lancer, but I’m studying to be a fierce Dragoon. I don’t know much of any skills, and I don’t have much in the way of talents, but I try to be helpful whenever I can and stay out of the way when I can’t. I DO know several festive dances, if those count.
I’ll eventually be the master of everything, or at least I’ll try, but for now I’m focusing on being a great Dragoon and leatherworker.
Tell us about yourself in a couple paragraphs:
I’m a simple Lalafell, not much interesting going on there. My folks belong to a communal farm out on the edges of the Shroud, raising honeybees and radishes for the most part. My parents wanted me to get a taste of the world before I settled down to farming – especially as how I don’t particularly care for radishes – so I headed out to Gridania to be an adventurer and to see the world!
Since then, I’ve been attacked by skeletons, goblins, poachers, cactus men, scorpions, elementals, and I LOVE IT. I’ve been able to help people out with all sorts of problems, and they seem ever so thankful when I return their lost jewelry or bury the corpses of their loved ones or whatever errand they have for me. It makes me happy to make them happy.
Why do you want to join Arcanum? What can you bring to the Free Company?
I want to learn everything there is to learn and see everything there is to see. My mama always told me that if something was worth doing, it was worth sharing with folks, and that’s what I want to do. I want to join a group of folks who do stuff worth doing, and who like to share the adventure. That’s what adventurin’ is all about, isn’t it? Otherwise, it’s just going around killing mushrooms for money.
I know I’m not the strongest, the richest, the fastest, or the smartest, but I’ve got a big heart. Despite that, I can run long distances without getting very tired or too terribly dizzy. And I don’t give up easily. I’ve got that going for me.
What previous groups have you been affiliated with? Which Grand Company do you serve?
I am a Private Second Class in the Twin Adders! I haven’t been affiliated with any other groups... this is the first time I’ve looked at joining a Free Company.
How did you hear about Arcanum? Do you have someone in Arcanum willing to vouch for you?
I had a rock in my boot, and I sat down to take it out. The grass felt really nice on my bare feet, so I decided to just take the afternoon off and laze around in the sun for a bit. I didn’t have anything to read, so I just scanned the message boards outside the auctioneer’s until I started to get drowsy. Right before I nodded off, I caught sight of a notecard explaining your Company.
I don’t know anybody in Arcanum, to be honest. I’ve been working so hard trying to get to be good at stuff, that I haven’t had much of a chance to meet folks. Sometimes, when you’re little, you have to work extra hard for people to take you seriously, you see.
(( I found a link to Arcanum when I stumbled on a guild finder tool on the FFXIV site accidentally ))
Have you familiarized yourself with our rules and etiquitte?
I have! And boy howdy, you’re not going to have any trouble with me! No sir!
When would be a good time for your interview? (( Server time or PST please ))
I’m still only a part-time adventurer, so I hope my schedule works. The best times would be the weekends during the day or Tuesdays after four (( PST. I’m in Central US Time ))
Do you have any additional information for us?
I really liked your section in your rules about being nice to folks. That resonated with me, because that’s the way I was raised.
(( I’m a casual player with decades of MMOs behind me. I don’t have a great deal of FFXIV experience yet, and playing on my couch via PS4 instead of at my desk is taking some getting used to, but I’m an all-around friendly guy who likes to enjoy pretty much every aspect of the game while maintaining RP characters that are as enjoyable and entertaining to be around as they are to play. ))
