(( I wanted to do this in person but it has been notoriously difficult to get people in one place since patch drop so I'm going to make a post about it on here and you can react as you will. ))
Seemingly by himself in the Arcanum estate Zachree tried his best to research the now cracked bauble. The artifact was simplistic in design, it was an orb with an intricate leather case fitted firmly into spherical shape with complimentary designs. A little latch lay at the top so one might wear it as a necklace or a bracelet. Zachree took to keeping the trinket in his pocket, perhaps that is how the crack occurred on its otherwise pristine lapis surface.
As the street peddler had told him, the orb permitted the holder to take on the shape of a creature or race different from his or her own, albiet for a limited time and blah blah blah circumstances. Zachree had a tendency to not listen to specifics when it comes to these sorts of things, the bottom line was that he saw an opportunity and he seized it.
There was of course other factors to consider, the last time Zachree had altered his form to become a more suitable shape to that of Illith the little lady was a might bit distressed. This time around she seemed a little more welcoming to the idea, that is until the bauble went haywire and he took on the form of a Miqo'te.
With this snafu their wedding would be set back until he was either able to assume his true form or that of a Lalafell again. With the birth and raising of the little ones their wedding had been put off long enough, and the exhausted ex-Elezen poured over tomes trying to find some way to either fix or unbind this relic from himself. Unfortunately he never rightly had a head for books, and this had become a very tiresome journey indeed.
The advice the leader of Arcanum had given was to just be patient, that she would find a way to unbind it and hopefully return his true form to him in time. Unfortunately Zachree was never one for patience either. It's hard to tell how he came to this conclusion but it must have been a curious sight indeed to witness the dark skinned Miqo'te take what seemed to be a priceless and ornate relic and begin to tap it on the tabletop, hopping he can 'jostle' it into working correctly. The first two taps didn't give a satisfactory result so he went ahead and tapped it a few more times until the relic simply turned to dust.
Stunned, the Miqo'te's ears and tail bristled whilst he looked upon the remnants of the orb, an empty leather casing still in a death clutch in his right hand.
(( OK. So. Feel free to use the residual energies of the orb in the household to justify any Heavensward fantasias if you like. The effects can be either permanent or temporary, its really up to you. ))
