(This is Part one Of the series of events I'm working on by the name of "Chasing Nidhogg's Tail")
Iliette's first attempt at infiltrating the conjurer's guild was... a failure, to say the least. The guards were way too helpful and her supposed teacher, now hospitalized along with some students from the first row... Well... Probably.... Iliette wasn't even sure if they were alright! She will check on them later, but now, time to go back to good old fashion burglary.
Since last time the guard have increased, maybe probably something to do with the recent incident that happened. Illiete bit her lower lip as a nervous reaction. She wasn't sneaky and knocking them out might cause more alarm then needed. She could try climbing up the side of the tree that the guild was carved into, but it looked really smooth, her boots would not catch into it's bark nor would she have anywhere to hold onto, the branches reaching the very sky.
“Hmmmmm...” she examined her options. “Wish I had inside help!” she thought, but quickly shook her head. “No, I can't really tell about this to anyone, they wouldn't believe me anyway.”
As in who would believe a girl who just heard from (not so trust able) sources that the book detailing the legendary spear “Nidhogg's Tail” 's exact location just happened to be in the restricted library of the Gridanian Conjurer's Guild... It was only a silly legend, but the sheer possibility of such a relic existing and possibly becoming hers.
The excitement was too grate, she needed to be calm. “I can do this... “ she exhaled and jumped through the window as two guards passed by, heading the opposite direction, keeping her step light and her breathing quiet. She walked down the quiet corridor looking for the way up. She took out a crumpled note with directions written on it. “So if I turn left here... It should take me close to the main hall then up the stairs and then...huh...” she mumbled to herself looking around. “The coast is clear!” she smirked. In the door waiting was a small patrol talking amongst themselves. Iliette hid where she could at the side listening in to their conversation.
“Do you even know what we are guarding...?” one of the guards asked.
“Tsk... No clue, just some powerful magic book... It's the Conjurer's Guild! What do you expect?” the other replied.
“I dunno, E-Sumi-Yan made it into a big deal, that no one has access to the library while it's here...” the man paced around between the space.
“Don't be ridiculous, we are to protect these from anyone anyway, why would this be any different?”
“Man you are such a buzz kill...”
“I prefer to call myself a realist....”
Iliette growled at the two guards “an alternate route is in order...” she thought as she heard footsteps behind her, she reached for her lance and prepared for a hopefully quiet battle!
