Raurimont and Tora Nix stand outside the walls of Ul'dah. He stands in his Brass Blades uniform, watching as people leave and enter the city gates. Tora stands beside him in her casualwear, a pink shirt with the front open to survive the heat of Ul'dah, with long hempen pants tp block the unforgiving sun.
She stands beside her brother poking at him as every passerby watches with a great deal of amusement.
"Heyyy saplingggg, guess what?!" she taunts him as she continues to poke his chainmail.
"What would that be Tora?" He replies without losing focus. His eyes scan over the crowd unfettered by Tora's attempts to pester.
"I beat up some pirates!" She begins to laugh hysterically and takes a deep breath as she stands straight and looks up at him. Her bright blue eyes stare up in earnest pride. Raurimont looks down quizically at her for a moment.
"You did what?" He asks in a dry tone, almost scolding her ask he speaks.
"Well..."
*8 hours pass*
There is a small group of travelers sitting at a table in the Quicksands. The bar has its usual customer but the life inside the building comes from a little gathering in the center. Tora and Raurimont are sitting with the group.
Tora speaks up in her proud and unrelenting voice, "Then I kicked him in the face and he begged for his life! I had to think fast so I swung around and beat up a bunch of giant guys with swords." She jabs at the air and bounces in her seat as she continues, "Five, no, ten pirates! I beat all of em myself! I think thats how it went at least..." She begins to laugh and stops as she scans those around her. "I bet none of you've ever done anything like that!!!"
((This is an open RP thread, our group of adventurers are currently seated inside the Quicksands and have been challenged to beat Tora's story. You can even say you were with Tora and work that however you like. Feel free to drop on with your character as you like. Have fun.))

Sipping from a small tea cup, Illith muses a little at the story with a slight nod of her head in Tora's direction.
"Interesting...to say the least." She murmurs, tapping her clawed fingers along the side of her mug before placing it down in front of her. She smirks a little at the last bit, eyeing Tora with a rather humored expression.
"Aye...I can say i've taken out a few pirates in my days. And beyond. If you don't mind my saying so, I hate to sound like i'm bragging." She chuckles lightly, a hint of jest in her voice at her last comment. She scans the others for their own perspective, her gaze returning to both Nix's after a moments motion.
"You forget i've been around...and fire does the trick on any hapless being, to be sure." She nods, matter-of-factly, making to bring the cup back to her lips with a quaint expression. "You must have something better than besting some pirates, dear...how about a chimera? That'll show the lot whose boss."
A whimsical grin crossed her features as she took another sip; she hoping the joviality of her voice would at least purvey her attempt at being somewhat joking.

The Quicksand was bustling as ever with adventurers, merchants and shady folk alike, in normal circumstances Iliette would have just went to her destination, but the tavern provided some sort of protection from the ever scorching heat of Ul'dah! Her jacket open revealing a simple white shirt underneath, waving herself with a small book - an unusual sight, Iliette with a book that is - she took a seat beside the bar and ordered a tall glass of something cold, she didn't even care what.
The barman handed her something with a smile, she began to drink it, turning around she scanned the room for any familiar faces, she spotted the Raurimont and Tora Nix at one of the tables, she was about to say hello at least, but changed her mind "They might have some family time" she thought with a smile. She will say hi, when she is leaving and with that she turned back to the bar.
-8 Hours later-
Eight hours of Tora's shrill voice. Eight damn hours of her talking, non-stop. Eight god damn hours of her boasting about some bull crap story! It was eight hours Iliette will never get back! It was getting to her that's fur sure. She didn't know why. Maybe it was the alcohol the barman was feeding her, maybe it was Tora being... Well... Tora, maybe a combination of both. She will have to step it up though, she was a seeker of Arcanum for twelve's sake! She walked through the crowd -or more like a drunken waddle- towards the source of the noise. She smiled and put her foot on the table "Is that all?" she shrugged. "Sounds like a typical job the Twin Adders hand out to their low level recruits to me!" she sat down at one of the available seats. "I on the other hand, was at Coerthas recently and let's just say, I'm a full fledged Dragoon now and you know what Dragoon's have to do to earn their armour?" she smirked. "They have to kill a Dragon!" she took out something from her bag and slapped it on the table. "And here is my trophy, I would have taken the head, but you know, had to give it to the master that was testing me! It was also way too big to carry around!" She smirks at the trio present. “Let me just tell you the tale..”
-Another 8 hours later-
She stood up for dramatic effect for the finale of her long winded story. "The beast was high up in the air while I was climbing the mountainside, scared for it's life, it tried to swoop at me, I smiled, my grip did not falter, no fear I jumped into the depths to meet the beast at it's own element! The wind was rushing through me, the cold freezing my very breath within me! It opened it's mouth to breath fire on me, it's sharp teeth ready to take me apart! But I, no, my very spirit did not falter, I stared it down and landed on it's back! The dragon flew at it's full speed through the skies, I stabbed it many times in the neck and it's back! The beast with a big roar began to fall, the view of the snowy mountains was the most beautiful thin you could ever see! As it landed the fire from my soul and the dragon's own flame melted the snow around us, before it took it's last breath, it took one last look at me as I put it out of it's misery!” with that she sat back down and crossed both her legs and her arms “Now try to top THAT one!”

Tora listened to Iliette speak with a wide grin, breaking into laughter that turned every head in the Quicksands as soon as Iliette finished.
Her laughter broke long enough for her to exhale the words, "Flying tree of Dooooom!" Before she fell into another laughing fit. Raurimont chuckled slightly but interupted Tora's mad giggling.
"They both have a valid point Tora. A mere band of sea faring brigands is far from a special achievement. Would you not boast about a more impressive victory?" He raised an eyebrow at his sister before looking down at a small cup before him and sipping the chilled contents within.
Tora angrily snapped, "Well at least I BEAT my enemies when I fight them. Fine then..." She stood from her seat and raised her voice to the occupants of the bar. "Whoever here has ever beat the biggest baddest beastie will get a special prize from me!"

Illith raised a brow in Tora's direction; though she didn't turn her head to face her as she sipped from her glass. She smirked slightly, her crimson eyes shutting as she thought about what to say next. Her fingers flexed along the cup before she placed it down, arms crossing as she gave a sharp grin.
"Aye. Well, I suppose that depends on the prize. I have fought many a manner of monsters and villains - as you very well may know. I'm not sure exactly what kind of beast you think is a fine boast for this little contest of yours..."
She'd lean forward, elbows meeting the table with a soft thud. She'd cock her head, her ears twitching curiously as she awaited the answer.

Iliette simply scoffed at Tora's teasing, Raurimont clearly being the brains of the duo. "What about you, Nix? I'm sure you have a tale or two up your sleeve as well and now it would only be polite to share it with us!" she winked at the other elezen before turning to Illith. "You too! I'm sure a *grand* mage such as yourself had some impressive enemies or even rivals!" the barman with a wicked grin delivered another cup to Iliette, who in reply downed it with one fell swoop, listening to the trio present, she smacked her cup down, resting her head on her hand closing her eyes. "Illith, anything is a good kill as long as it stretches your own capabilities to beat it, the more challanging the beast or task, the more fun it is after all! Clearly to our Tora, some weak pirates are a good test of strength!" With that she looked at Tora a taunting grin on her face. She new the hyur was stronger, but teasing her was just way too funny to pass the opportunity by.

Tora growled quietly, annoyed at the elezen for her remarks. She looked to Illith, "Big stuff! You know what they say, the bigger they, the harder you hit them!" She grinned with unquestionable confidence. "Then again a moogle might be big to you..." She laughed out loud, drawing the attention of several patrons who shot her worrisome looks. When she was done she drew a deep breath and flexed her right arm and placed the other hand on top of her bicep.
"I big HUGE stuff all the time! Like sapling! I beat him at least once!" She grinned tauntingly at Nix for a moment before oddly turning her gaze toward Iliette.
Raurimont spoke rather lazily, "I don't remember being beaten young lady." He looked at Iliette, the siblings now both looking her way. "As for you, I feel no need to flaunt a victory in combat. Victory is merely survival." He grinned slightly, the two now syncronized in what seemed a combined effort to taunt Iliette. "Beside the point, I would not dare ruin my dear sisters challenge by winning so quickly."

"You talk so highly of yourself as if you are ashamed to admit that you lost to your sister." A voice with very little emotion called out to the group group, quiet foot steps made their way to the group, followed my a loud stomping, almost running pair.
"I hope you aren't one of those men who think he can't be brought down by a girl~" A more cheerful tone sang out, running to the group from the doorway.
The pair was a Miqo'te and a Hyur who looked like complete opposites.
The Miqo'te held black hair cut in a medium style with natural silver tips, her bangs were just above her eyes, one baring an eye patch and the other revealed to be the same shade of silver as her tips. Her form was like other female Miqo'te's yet bore pale skin rather than dark like her siblings as Keepers of the Moon. She held no emotion on her facial features, dull and blank.
The Hyur, on the other hand, beamed with delight. She wore a broad smile on her face as she took a pause to wave frantically. She, too, was pale and held ebony hair but red was the secondary color that crawled up like flames. Her eye was hidden with her hair but the other was a bright blue.
The Miqo'te backed her ears as she sighed. "Keep it down, Ruby, some people are trying to enjoy themselves." She scolded.
Ruby, the Hyur, ignored her companion's comment and ran up to the group once more, wrapping her arms around Nix's head, rocking him back and forth, still holding that stupid smile across her face as the Miqo'te made her way slowly to join the group.

Beneath Ruby's arms Nix held a stoic expression as he was rocked back and forth. Tora watched, laughing the entire time until she saw Nashu. "Sorry sapling's busy!" You can kiss ME though!" She chuckled and she puckered her lips briefly before folding over with laughter.
"Hello Miss Ruby." Nix stated. The words muffled by Ruby's enthusiastic embrace. "Care to tell stories of your own?" He pushed Ruby off of himself gently and looked to Nashu, standing and offering her his seat.
